"Come to the edge."
"We can't. We're afraid."
"Come to the edge."
"We can't. We will fall!"
"Come to the edge."
And they came.
And he pushed them.
And they flew. :floating:

:sing: i'm not going to talk bad about you on the internet - because MY momma taught me better than that :sing:

:sing: You're so vain, you probably think this blog is about you You're so vain, Ill bet you think this blog is about you - Don't you? Don't you? :sing:

that actress from Get Smart and the Devil Wears Prada - Anne Hathaway - her ex rich boyfriend is on bail for over $21M they think his stuff is so serious - YET he is on "house arrest" in his luxurious surroundings until trial. :wtf: your average joe would be sitting his happy ass in jail - but this schmuck - whose crime is so severe you put the bail at $21M gets "house arrest" :disbelief: what is wrong with this picture!!!

today i was checking out mansions of the stars and wow - maybe i'd do it too if i was that rich, but good god - even if you "entertain" a lot - who the hell needs so much square footage - these are hotels/resorts for a family of 1, 3 or 5 maybe. :wtf: insane what happens to you - what you think you really need or want even it seems once you get crazy money. truly curious and strange to me

today i had a mommy meltdown. basically last friday i forgot that it was "wear this camp shirt everybody" day for alex and when i picked him up he said "you forgot to put me in my orange shirt and all my friends had theirs on" gees - the guilt!!! i begged forgiveness and said i'd remember next time. then today it's "sports" day and i put him in basketball shorts and a tank but then wuzza calls and says alex wanted a sports ball of some kind on his shirt and how he had to tell him his sport could be surfing b/c he had surfboard on his shirt today :blahblah: it hit me hard - which is insane i realize - but i am super sensitive about my kid ever feeling left out b/c of how i grew up feeling very left out due to my circumstances - and i become unreasonable. so i had a meltdown. :cries: then i got it together, shared with another mom in the office and :lmao: at how dumb it was. the guilt we mothers put on ourselves to be perfect is insane!

we're taking alex on his first plane ride this weekend!! then on a ferry boat and to a beach! galveston beach, texas. (yeah yeah - not a pretty beach but he won't know what to compare it to since it's his first one) i'm so excited for him and man is he excited about the airplane trip! :excited: we live by the airport so he is very famliar with them. ;)

:blahblah:

more later :blowkiss:

JOURNAL QUESTION:

If you don't live in America have you heard about our "housing crisis"? What is your perception of it?

If you do live here, what is your perception? How much is big bad evil mortgage brokers and loan officers and how much is it ignorance of the people or trying to keep up with the jones' and reality setting in?

 :devilish:

Richard Dawkins says that the religion is root of all evil :) I doubt Dawkins' idea and money isn't the root either. I ask myself how the belief and the monetary systems has been created... In need of what?

Today money is a piece of paper. No gold, no silver, only the value we put in beautifully designed and printed papers by giving our energy out to some people.

I'm not against the money :D

Happy first plane ride to Alex :)

:hmm: The rich have always been able to bend the legal system in their favour, either through legal representation or their connections to other. :hmm: And the mansions are just a new take on the grand estates and castles of old... a bricks-and-mortar penile extension. Of course, back in the old days, castles also doubled up as a defence against people wanting to steal your wealth from you...

Sorry to hear about your mommy meltdown :petting: but maybe it's a good thing that you don't do the same as all the other mommies. I'm sure that Alex forgave you and gave you a  already. :)

Magical Conciousness is the state in which tea leaves are read, curses are cast, goals are scores, poems are written...
Aw, he'll forget about it later in life. That's why I have to write things down, I'll totally forget. My mom was supposed to go by the park this Saturday to snap some photos of my five year high school reunion for me.... and she forgot. So you've got lots of time to remember/forget things for him :)

About the housing crisis... well we were affected before anybody else because my husband was a real estate appraiser and lost his job. We live in a 1950's house that we paid too much for. Right now you can buy an acre lot with a brand new house for the price we paid for our little falling apart, no dining room, one bathroom house.

And we are about to lose it because our Mortgage servicer is taking their dear sweet time (over 6 months now) to review our paperwork to help us out. I've called them every other day, sometimes every day for 6 months crying out for help and all I get is answering machines and nobody ever returns phone calls. It makes me wish I could sue them for not doing their job. I want the bank that holds my loan to know that the servicer is the one who dropped the ball.... big time

The lenders do take that long - they are beyond overwhelmed - I know b/c I work for the biggest one in the country. ;) You realize that you can go to your state regulator or attorney general office for free and they will force them to focus on your loan and get it done right? Seriously - that's my job - I work in the legal dept. in regulatory complaints where Borrowers have gone through congressman's offices, dept. of banking for each state, or the attorney general of their state, or the Office of Thrift Supervision - and we are required by law to focus on them and get answers done. I really mean it - it will save you!

Really? I just saved this in a word pad document so that I can look into it tomorrow if I can't get a hold of Wilshire

I remember my first plane ride. I was going to Disney to babysit a six-year-old so her dad and his girlfriend could bring her with them and still enjoy the night life.

I was freaking out, and just when I finally calmed down she decided to say "I hope we don't crash" :faint:

enjoying your journals again.
try to keep those alex experiences in perspective....you sound like an excellent mom to me who gives alex a lot of great life experiences and memories.

i think the mortgage crisis is real! however, i just sold a house that i could no longer afford due to divorce. about 4 years ago i applied for a home equity loan from one of the "baddie" lenders. we were turned down when my exhusb los hi job in the middle of the process. i am sooo thankful now....because i would have been upside down when i sold if we got that loan. sooo....even though they are in trouble for bad lending practices,.....they were ethical in not approving my loan.
